South Africa’s leading pharmaceutical electronic procurement and advertising company, X/procure® Software, has been named a finalist for a Technology Top 100 Emerging Companies Award in the ‘Minister’s Award for Overall Technology Excellence: Small Enterprise 2005’ category. The 2005/6 Technology Top 100 (TT100) Awards programme, officially mandated by the Department of Science and Technology and sponsored by Eskom, honours excellence in the development of the South African technology industry.
X/procure® Software, a Primedia Unlimited subsidiary, provides an advertising platform to pharmacies of both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products countrywide. The resulting unique space for manufacturers and suppliers to showcase products to the pharmaceutical buyer is in great demand. X/procure® also has the unique ability to accurately measure and report on the market. South Africa’s major pharmacy groups, networks and independent retail pharmacies, representing more than 70% of all pharmacy purchases, make use of X/procure®.
“In the five years since inception, X/procure® Software has developed a range of electronic advertising mediums used primarily by pharmaceutical product manufacturers. The introduction of the system means that for the first time, advertisers in the pharmaceutical industry are able to promote their products at the point when the purchaser, the pharmacist, is making the buying decision. The return on investment is measurable daily, weekly and monthly. The software itself is a huge advancement in technology. We are thrilled to be the deemed TT100 Qualifiers for 2005/6 and have our software system recognised as one of South Africa’s technological role models,“ says Deon Lewis, Managing Director, X/procure® Software.
