Norgine Pharmaceuticals recently secured another 12 month contract with X/procure®, Primedia Unlimited’s subsidiary that facilitates direct-to-pharmacist advertising. “We’ve enjoyed great brand exposure with X/procure®, constantly challenging competitive products and winning significant market share,” says Dougy Kevan, General Manager at Norgine. On speaking on his decision to re-sign with X/procure®, Dougy describes the team at X/procure® as an extension of Norgine’s sales and marketing force. “Apart from just doing the sale, the team at X/procure® have shown great commitment to our brands, taking any decline in unit sales personally. They’ve given us constant data on the success of the campaign, and tailor-made this feedback to meet our company’s needs.” He believes that X/procure® is crucial to maintaining Movicol’s much-improved market share. Other motivations for continuing the partnership include exposure for Norgine’s recently launched product, Pegicol and the opportunity to secure more share of shelf for other Norgine products. The next 12 months will see another aggressive campaign for Norgine, with watermark branding for 6 months and linked adverts flighting on the ordering component of the system for the total 12 months. Adding to this, Norgine will further increase its interaction with pharmacists with an exciting browser competition that will run for a month. “The results that we have already achieved speak for themselves. We are confident that we will meet Norgine’s objectives,” says Deon Lewis, the Managing Director of X/procure®.

Leading pharmaceutical procurement company X/procure®, has been contracted by retail giant Pick ‘n Pay to supply its pharmaceutical ordering system for the supermarket group’s in-store pharmacies.Pick ‘n Pay installed the X/procure® software system in 2002, in the HealthPharm franchised stores. More recently, Pick ‘n Pay launched a total of 10 corporate pharmacies in its Hypermarket division and Primedia Unlimited subsidiary X/procure® was again the preferred software supplier. According to Managing Director, Deon Lewis, the software provides Pick ‘n Pay with a tailor-made, smoothly-managed and controlled ordering system for in-store dispensaries. Renowned for its quality product and speedy delivery, X/procure®’s software system is key in facilitating proper management of ordering, as well as backward integration into existing store management systems.“Pick ‘n Pay was our first big client when we launched six years ago and we faced tough competition from more established companies,” Lewis relates. “Fortunately, the competition were not always able to deal with high volume orders and couldn’t produce the programmes timeously. X/procure® got a chance to ‘take a bite of the apple’ and we have enjoyed a fruitful relationship with Pick ‘n Pay ever since.”“We’ve enjoyed a successful association with X/procure® and our pharmacy personnel find the ordering system a great tool in streamlining our in-house ordering procedures,” says Hippo Zourides, Pick ‘n Pay’s Pharmacy division general manager.X/procure® plays a vital role in cost-effective and well-managed pharmacies, for both dispensing prescribed drugs and over-the-counter (OTC) stock. It is already firmly established at major pharmacy groups (Dis-Chem, Clicks, Netcare and Shoprite Checkers) and with Pick ‘n Pay on board, X/procure® now has a presence in all pharmacy retail chains.
