  • Another Big Drug Bust due to Crimeline

A major drug bust has been made following information received in an anonymous tip-off sent to Primedia’s Crime Line. Gauteng Police spokesperson, Superintendent Eugene Opperman confirmed that police discovered cocaine, cocaine rocks, Ecstasy, and LSD worth R55 000 in a house in a security complex in Boksburg North. “We also found 10 cellphones we believe were used for drug deals, as well as some jewellery that could not be explained.”

Two women and a man, all in their thirties, have been arrested and according to Opperman, they will be profiled, to see what links can be made to other criminal activity. “We received a detailed tip-off this morning,” he said, “and it led the police directly to the criminals.” Yusuf Abramjee, Primedia’s head of Crime Line, said he was thrilled to see the system working. “This shows that if there is enough information in the tip-offs we receive from the public, we can make a big difference in the fight against crime,” he said.

Anonymous tip-offs can be smsed to 32211 for R1 per sms, or sent via the website, www.crimeline.co.za
