Nelson Mandela Day

X/procure and XP Digital together with the rest of Primedia Unlimited PU knitted over 200 squares providing 20 blankets to the Fountain of Youth Orphanage and their inspiring children.
Last month, a team of 12 from the PU businesses visited the home to deliver the blankets, paint the rooms in the home, play with the children and provide lunch for them.
Primedia Unlimited (PU) also went to the Fountain of Love Orphanage in Katlehong for Mandela Day to donate the blankets PU had knitted – Rosy who runs the orphanage has 50 children she looks after in a 3 bedroom house in the township.  Some of the children have HIV, her 2 eldest girls are second-year varsity.

PU has been supporting her for some years and this year the staff went through with the blanket donations, PU also painted her home on the day– the boys room blue and the girls pink.  Whilst the house was being painted and minor repairs being done – PU took the kids out to the park and had a picnic – Happy meals for everyone, sweets and coldrinks.  PU also donated the knitting needles to Rosy so that she can continue knitting blankets or teach the ladies who help her at the orphanage.  Also supplied to Rosy by the PU team – 1 school bag for each child, 1 stationery pack for each child, 1 scarf for each child.
