Reinforcing its position as a leader in pharmaceutical procurement software, X/procure®, a subsidiary of Primedia Unlimited, has scooped three awards at this year’s Annual Da Vinci TT100 Business Innovation Awards.

Held on the 15th of November 2017 at the Johannesburg Country Club, the awards shine the spotlight on the importance of developing a local culture of technological innovation and excellence. The TT100 Business Innovation Awards has grown into one of the most prestigious business awards programmes, that commends local organisations for their business expertise in the management of technology, innovation, people, systems and sustainability - irrespective of industry.

X/procure® won awards in three categories; the Management of People, Sustainability and the Management of Systems categories, adding to the long list of accolades it has achieved through the TT100 Programme over the years.

We are delighted to be able to share our success and these awards, not only with the Da Vinci programme judges and event delegates, but with X/procure® staff and the Primedia Group as a whole. Without their hard work, drive and passion to creating a tech-savvy, innovative business, these accolades would not have been possible,” says JD Henderson, managing director at X/procure®.

He adds that awards such as these, highlight X/procure®’s drive to offer best-of-breed solutions designed to enable pharmacies to rapidly respond to the needs of their customers.

X/procure®’s electronic procurement and media solutions extend to digital, mobile, advertising, ordering and innovative software solutions at the highest industry standard. It supplies more than 63% of the country’s pharmacies with electronic procurement software, which enables them to purchase scheduled and OTC pharmaceutical, surgical, and front shop requirements directly from wholesalers and distributors.

Key note speaker, Minister of Science and Technology, Naledi Pandor, praised top innovators amongst the nominees for showcasing South African talent and developing local innovation.

She said the long-standing alliance that the Department of Science and Technology (DST) has maintained with the TT100 awards programme, was critical to the ongoing efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships in support of South African technology-based businesses.

Such partnerships not only enable awareness creation of business technology development initiatives and opportunities, but also profile the innovation prowess of SA tech companies to local and international markets,” Pandor added.

The TT100 Business Innovation Awards was started in 1991 with the aim to promote the culture of innovation amongst large, medium, small and emerging businesses. Over and above a vehicle for achieving growth and innovation advancement in South Africa, the awards highlight the crucial need for local businesses to harness the management of technology, innovation and people in a sustainable manner.

Omega Labs experienced anything but adverse side effects when the company advertised its Prevalin allergy tablets with Primedia Unlimited's electronic procurement provider X/procure®.

"In fact, the only side effects that our clients feel, is an increase in sales as we have the unique ability to communicate directly with the pharmacist and pharmacy staff who educate consumers on the advertised products," says X/procure®'s MD JD Henderson.

The objectives of the Omega Labs campaign are two-fold; to educate the pharmacy staff on Prevalin and the benefit of an allergy solution without the side effects, and to encourage consumers to control their allergies with Prevalin on an ongoing basis.

Largely, pharmacists are the first point of call for advice on acute and chronic medications, and are therefore often called upon by consumers to refer products to them.

"The strong message that Prevalin works five times faster than traditional medication with no side effects, is safe in the long term and is safe for pregnant & nursing mothers, is reinforced through the use of our HTML messages, screen savers and intervention advertising to staff," says JD. "The adverts on our platform educate, promote and demonstrate the superiority of Prevalin to the pharmacist and front line staff who in turn make their recommendations to their customers."

To address annual springtime allergies, the campaign is set to run from September to November this year.
